We headed to UP Los Baños afterwards and the three of us shot away. I think all of us got good pictures, it's difficult not to, in such a beautiful, green campus.
According to Aristotle's Nicomachean ethics, there's one kind of human living one can choose to pursue and that is satisfying bodily/temporal pleasures, aka buhay baboy. This includes satisfying sexual urges, hunger (more in the lines of gluttony) and thirst, all under the category of pleasure. Personally, one new sub-category should be included to the long list and no woman can disagree with me--shopping.
Today, my mum and I woke up at 7 and got ourselves ready for a pedicure/manicure in a salon in the plaza at 9am. After the session, we went to Tayabas with my mum's officemates to have a feast in one of the well known restaurants there, Palaisdaan. It's a place where they serve inihaw (grilled) fish, meat, beef, carabao, duck and even gitnataan snails. Don't worry, it tastes better than it sounds. The place has floating bamboo kubos
where people eat. They even have a small quartet that plays OPM songs in old 60s version for the customers. The place is great! I wasn't able to take much pictures though, I was busy eating. (The picture in the left is one of the ducks I'm talking about.)After the makasalanang (sinful) feast we were off to Liliw, a small town in Lucban Quezon, where houses and small establishments selling shoes (mostly for women), bags and pasalubongs (gift items one takes home, usually food) are lined up in two long streets. The price of the goods were relatively cheap. Most of the products are also produced in the same area, however, you can't avoid some imported goods (like the Korean sandals I bought) from mixing into the supposedly local merchandise. Nevertheless, we were able to buy 4 pairs of step-in and sandals, a colorful summer bag, and a fake Gucci wallet. All for less thatn P1500!
I don't think it's really buhay baboy. But it sure feels like it!
